The basic techniques of molecular biology are to study protein function is molecular cloning. In this technique, DNA coding for a protein of interest is cloned using polymerase chain reaction, and/or restriction enzymes into a plasmid. Techniques involved are polymerase chain reaction, southern blotting, northern blotting , western blotting and gel electrophoresis.

It also focusses on recent developments made in the field of cell biology. The session will be followed by a live interactive questionnaire.
