Biography
Jacova is Associate Professor of Psychology at Pacific University, and Adjunct Faculty at the University of British Columbia Division of Neurology. She has internationally recognized research expertise in characterizing early clinical, cognitive and neuroimaging manifestations of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), Frontotemporal Dementia and Vascular Cognitive Impairment. She is one of the lead authors on the novel diagnostic framework for AD proposed by the International Working Group (known as the IWG or Dubois criteria). She has contributed conceptually to defining the diagnostic entities of prodromal and preclinical AD. Dr. Jacova has also contributed to designing and implementing randomized controlled trials of pharmacological and behavioral interventions in older adults with and without cognitive impairment. She has authored or co-authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles, and several book chapters/books on topics of cognition, aging, and dementia.
