Biography
Dr. Jia-Sheng Wang currently serves as University of Georgia (UGA) Athletic Association Endowed Professor in Public Health, Professor in Toxicology and Food Safety, and the Head of the Department of Environmental Health Science, College of Public Health, UGA. He is also a Chang Jiang Lecture Professor in Jiangnan University School of Food Science and Technology, China. He graduated with undergraduate diploma MB) and the Master of Medicine Degree from Shanghai First Medical College in 1978 and 1981, respectively. He worked as acting division leader and assistant dean for research in Nanjing Railway Medical College in 1982-1985.. Dr. Wang was the Georgia Distinguished Cancer Research Scholar in 2009-2015. He is an international recognized leader in food safety and food toxicology with focus on foodborne toxicants.
Research Interest
His research interests include development of molecular biomarkers for foodborne carcinogens, cancer chemoprevention with functional food components, and molecular epidemiology and toxicology.
