Biography
Dolores Corella, is a PhD in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science and Food Technology and Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Food Science, Toxicology and Legal Medicine, University of Valencia. In the last ten years she has focused her research on the methodological development of so-called gene-environment interactions on various intermediate phenotypes and late cardiovascular diseases and obesity. In the study of interactions has specialized in studies on gene-diet interactions in different populations both Spanish and from other countries from different continents. She also participated in the PREDIMED (prevention with Mediterranean diet) study, working in recruitment and monitoring of patients at high cardiovascular risk as well as conducting genetic analysis and nutrigenomics studies of this cohort. She has directed more than 10 research projects of the National Plan and the Generalist Valencia and has collaborated in the development of more than 150 international publications in the field of cardiovascular diseases and obesity. Besides her research group has also participated in Red INBIOMED technology and is working with the COMBIOMED network.
